Abeir Tawil's Story

I’m Abeir Tawil, a proud graduate of the University of Toledo, where I majored in Supply Chain Management and Marketing. While in college, I worked full-time as an assistant manager for Guess. By age of 18, I was the youngest hiring, coaching, and training staff, all while focusing on boosting sales and helping my team reach their full potential. Consistently hitting record top sales, I realized early on that I loved solving problems and helping businesses grow.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, workplaces were left short-staffed, and it felt like no one had the same work ethic anymore. It was frustrating to watch businesses struggle, but it also opened my eyes to a solution. That’s when I discovered the incredible potential of Filipino virtual assistants. Their dedication, work ethic, and skills completely blew me away, and I knew I could help businesses tap into this talent to grow smarter and faster.

At the same time, I was at home with my kids and trying to fill the void by picking up hobbies and even considering turning them into businesses. But no matter what I tried, it just didn’t feel right, I knew my heart was capable of bigger and better things. Motherhood is a job of its own and it left me exhausted but I was determined to not lose myself in that process. I picked myself up and realized I could use my skills and experience to create something meaningful that could help others.

That’s why I started Silk Road to Gold. I wanted to give businesses the tools and support they need to get back on track, save time, and scale. I understand how overwhelming it can be to manage everything, and I’m passionate about helping others find balance and success. Let’s scale our businesses by working smarter, not harder, together!

Hi, I’m Al Tawil. I know what it feels like to be buried under the constant pressure of running a business. Right after high school, I jumped into our family business in a small Ohio town, eager to help and make an impact. I gave it everything, working six days a week, twelve hours a day. But over time, the endless admin tasks, emails, and daily fires began to wear me down. I was missing out on my family, and the stress was piling up.

Eventually, I knew something had to give. My wife Abeir and I started exploring ways to automate and delegate smarter. It was not easy. We dealt with setbacks, unreliable help, and lots of trial and error. But slowly, we figured it out. With the right systems in place, our business grew by 22 percent in just one year, and I finally had time again for both growth and my family.

That experience changed everything for us. I realized success is not about doing more, it is about doing the right things. It is about building systems that let you focus on what really matters instead of getting stuck in the day to day.

Now, on the side, I help support my wife’s mission at Silk Road to Gold. She leads the way, and I jump in where I can, helping entrepreneurs get their time back, cut the chaos, and scale smarter with trusted Virtual Assistants. This is not my full-time job, but I believe in it because I have lived it.
